Featured Friends

On the first night of Wysolice I had a dream.

I was in my cottage, looking at the Impressions and remedies on my shelf, but as so often is the case in dreams, they were different. They glimmered and shined with an unusual but lovely glow, and it seemed to me that they twinkled like snow outdoors.

And then I was outside in the winter air.

I was sat upon a stone, gazing at that same twinkle on the ground. It was sunset and the red sun shown its light over the snowy field beside the forest. The rays caught in one of the tiny ice crystals and then broke like a prism so that for an instant there was color, like an iridescent rainbow.

But no ordinary creature was she; her hair was pure white, adorned with frozen pearls, and her skin, it was transparent, like a new snowflake, but with the same iridescent sparkle I had seen but moments earlier. She was so elegant and regal, a princess of frost and ice, and as she turned to look at me I saw she had the sweetest, gentlest smile upon her face.

“Hello green child.”

“Who are you? I mean hello-I mean… oh goodness-” I was rather flustered

“Fear not Sonya,” she laughed, “My name is Nieve, and I come from away to bring you the radiance in the winter snow.”

“Are you from the kingdom of Lord Frost?”

“Some might say that. I come with the wind and am wherever there is light, and cheer, and the blush of color on the white snow.

Be well Sonya, and joy be with you in this season of Wysolice.”

I awoke and thought it was all just a lovely dream, but on my bed were two bags, one brown and green like my forest and the other pale and blue, with bottles of frozen pearls and iridescent rainbows. Even the Impressions on my shelf still look different somehow.

In my magic mirror, I have made many friends. It is something I am very grateful for, as when I was growing up in Larksville I really only spent time with Auntie Ember and Lettie. One of my new friends is @dreyconaurora, a most skillful artist with many magical friends.

The other afternoon I fell asleep and had a dream in which I received a package from my friend. There was a letter with so many beautiful gifts, like a handmade sweater, a mask, and a fine red bag; there was a basket perfect for spring flowers...

How remarkable it all was, and what a sweet dream. At least I thought it was a dream, for when I opened my eyes there were all the lovely things in my cottage. I don’t know how this could be, but it seems the magic of the mirror has brought this sweet gift safely to me. Thank you so much @dreyconaurora for such a delightful package.
